It is a Viking Era live-steel re-enactment group
with many different sub-groups in Europe and
at least one in the US. A fascinating bunch, The Brotherhood of Jomsborg claim to be the greatest viking age organisation in the world today. Their website is certainly decent and the gallery contains some excellent photos of Viking action.

Founded in 1971, The Vikings are probably the oldest and largest Dark Age re-enactment society in the UK. They have over 700 members throughout Britain, and others in Europe and the US. While the Society concentrates mainly on the 10th Century, some events are set in the wider period from 790 to 1066, with the appropriate modifications to dress and equipment used. Our aim is to provide an accurate and educational portrayal of the Viking period, with an equal emphasis on the daily life of the period, and on the more warlike aspects of life in what was a formative period in European history.

"Shedding Light on the Dark Ages" - Weorod are a small, independent group of Historical Interpretors who specialise in providing Living History and Re-enactment displays for both local and national events. Based in Portsmouth, Hampshire they recreate one of the most decisive eras in the history of Britain, the years from 532 to 682, during the Early Medieval or Dark Age period. Portraying the lives of the early Jutish settlers of the Migration Period in Southern Hampshire, they provide an accurate representation of what early medieval life may have looked like.
