Re-Enactment Directory - Medieval re-enactment groups
Here at Clash of Steel, we strongly support the work of Re-enactors and Living History enthusiasts bringing life to history, learning what it might have been like to live as they did, and encouraging others to remember the past.
If you would like to suggest a group, send us the details. We'd love to hear about it.
Our group is a non-profit organisation, that recreates the trials and tribulations of 14th century medieval life including Combat, Living History, Falconry, Cooking , Dancing, Crafts and much more..... We're a group which has been around for about 20 years displaying originally archery and now other medieval European martial arts. Based in the Southeast, we mainly do individual shows for small village fetes but often take part in large national events. Despite our title and official time period we often take part in dark age and earlier medieval events giving us a broad range of contacts and friends within the reenactment community.

Their website states that their primary intention is 'the study and recreation of the European Middle Ages, its crafts, sciences, arts, traditions, literature, etc.'
Because it covers a wide range of time periods (pre 1600)
this is not strict re-creation. But it does
provide a martial arts, social and creative
outlet for many people. There are many different
activities that depend upon the area you live
in. It is the largest group with over 40,000
members world wide...

The Stork's Beak School of Historical Swordplay is based in Edinburgh, Scotland. The School is based on teaching, practice and research going back some 12 years. We currently offer regular courses of instruction in Longsword, Dussack, Two-Handed sword and the Great Stick or Bastone. We use steel replicas of historical weapons and teach systems, principles and techniques drawn from texts on the subject of fencing written between the fifteenth and nineteenth centuries.
When you join our school, you will get to study the European tradition of martial arts, and learn how to use a variety of swords. And, in the process you may pick up some history, philosophy, and fitness.
