Description
The Fort Austin, Fleet Stores Vessel served in the Falklands War of 1982 and continues in service with the Royal Fleet Auxiliary.
She displaces 23,384 tons, can make 20 knots and has a complement of 201 crew including 45 Fleet Air Arm as she can provide hangar and maintenance facilities for up to 4 Sea King helicopters. She can also be armed with 4 x 20mm Oerlikon guns.
