Summary
The third battle to control the approaches to the St. Luciensteig pass [now Luzisteig pass]. This time the Austrians engaged, Baron von Hotze's division. outnumbered the French and a further Austrian division [Bellegarde's] was 'waiting in the wings'. Over 3,000 French troops were captured along with 15 guns and a considerable amount of military equipment.
