Summary
One of two battles fought for passes in close proximity to one another. About one third of the Austrians were local militia. The French had the advantage of numbers and in the speed of their well coordinated attack. Taking this pass outflanked the Scharnitz in which the French were being held. The following day Ney's VI Corps occupied Innsbruck.
