Summary
The Tyroleans, expecting support from the Austrians, rose against the Franco-Bavarians who were occupying their land. The Tyrolean force consisted of a few thousand peasants acting without a central command structure around the city of Innsbruck. The French were new conscripts marching towards Innsbruck, all were captured. About 500 Bavarians were killed, most of the remainder were made prisoner. The Tyrolean losses were slight.
