Date(s) : 1419 - 1436
Summary
The Hussites were a religious sect, followers of Jan Huss (1369-1415) who was executed for heresy. They were located mainly in Bohemia. Pope Martin V declared a Crusade against the sect in 1420. Internal dissension between two groups within the sect lead to the Hussite Civil War (1423-1434) and eventually (1436) to the end of their resistance to Papal authority and to Sigismund being accepted as king of Bohemia.
