Summary
The Franco-Bavarians, commanded by Marshall Villars and the Elector of Bavaria, were retreating from Innsbruck before the Austrians under Count Styrum. The Franco-Bavarians suddenly turned onto the offensive and gave battle. The Austrians were badly beaten losing nearly 5,000 men and 37 guns.
