Summary
Dupont, commanding the First Division of Ney's VI Corps, was one of the few French formations still on the north bank of the Donau. Moving towards Haslach about noon he came upon a large Austrian formation. The Austrian cavalry overwhelmed the French and took most of his guns [11] and ammunition wagons [18]. Dupont's troops fought desperately, held on inflicting serious casualties on the Austrians, and then after dark retired to Albeck.
