Summary
A small but crucial engagement. Molitor's French turned south after their victory at Näfels to deal with the remainder of Lincken's corps. The Austrians gave ground easily, finally withdrawing well out of contact to the southeast. The French had achieved their strategic aim of preventing the junction og the Russian and Austrian armies.
