Summary
Dragoons of the Kings German Legion pursuing the French fleeing from the battle of Salamanca charged the battalion squares. The cavalry came of best because of the low morale and consequent lack of discipline within the French ranks. Some French cavalry which had been with the infantry rode off at the sight of the British approach.
