Summary
The Spanish line was held by 50,000 troops. Dugommier, commanding the French ordered a series of attacks on the Spanish wings. The second days fighting followed the same plan. Dugommier was killed in the course of the day but PĂ©rignon continued the same pattern. On the 20th, although it left his centre critically weak to resist a counter attack, he reinforced his right wing and the Spanish left collapsed. The Spanish right soon followed suit.
An attempt to hold the fortress of Figueras against a French siege only lasted until the 26th November.
