Summary
The Austrians under Archduke Charles and under Wartensleben were united and now it was the French who suffered from lack of coordination with Moreau leaving Jourdan to meet the Austrians. The French were not heavily defeated and Jourdan was able to retreat northwesterly to Schweinfurt.
