Summary
Marshalls Mortier and Marmont combined to stand between the Allies and Paris. [Napoleon had moved south presuming the Allies were still pursuing him.] The Allies were massively superior in cavalry [over 14,000 to 4,000] which did great work in breaking infantry squares e.g. A Brigade of the Young Guard were surrounded and cut down. The French fell back towards Paris.
