Summary
Determined to avenge the defeat at Stirling Bridge King Edward l took command of the English army. He finally caught up with the numerically inferior Scots near Falkirk. In spite of Wallace's excellent choice of ground and disposition of his troops the English under Edward were too determined and strong. Wallace fled the country.
