Summary
The Prince of Orange commanding a disparate group of units retreating from the Battle of Jena were caught by Murat's cavalry Corps. Some cavalry escaped but the remainder were taken prisoner. A few days later a column of these prisoners about 9,000 under escort of 1 battalion were freed by a squadron of Prussian Hussars.
