Summary
After Killiecrankie and Dundee's death Colonel Cannon assumed command of the Jacobites who then advanced on Dunkeld. The Government troops defending the town were 1,200 troops of the Earl of Angus's Regiment. About 5,000 Highlanders repeatedly attacked but were held for four hours of bitter fighting.
