Summary
The Swedes having surrendered Stralsund [20th August 1807] attempted to hold the island causeway connecting the mainland to the island of Rügen. They were outnumbered and 'out engineered' with four companies of sappers, mineurs and pontonniers among the French troops. A French Naval Captain commanded the attacking force.
