Summary
The Spanish forces, consisting of 1,400 soldiers and 5,000 armed citizens, were outnumbered two to one. Losses were not large on either side. An interesting side note is that Swiss troops fought on both sides of the engagement the 4 bns on the French side having been taken up from the Spanish service.
The French, under General Dupont, went on the take the city of Cordoba and extensively loot it.
