Summary
The Flemish troops [England's allies] all infantry, well trained militia, numbered about 9,000.
The French about 8,000 were balanced in all arms. Noble cavalry 2,500, Crossbowmen 1,000, Spearmen 1,000, other Light Infantry 3,500. Initially the French infantry gained an advantage but then the nobility attempted to complete the victory with a cavalry attack. The ground was broken, crossed by ditches. The cavalry was soundly replused and the Flemish infantry then took the victory. The Flemish took no prisoners.
