Summary
In the French retreat from the river Adda line to the river Ticino [see Battle of Vaprio] Serrurier was heavily engaged. After a short sharp fight the French became aware that 12 battalions of fresh troops under Russian general Rosenberg were approaching on his northern flank and to his rear. Serrurier surrendered.

A village just west of the river Adda halfway between Milan and Lecco. (Italy)

Once the line of the Adda river had been lost then Milan became untenable for the French. Marshal Suvorov entered the city on the 29th April.
