Summary
Three French Corps [ III, I, & VIII ] had the chance to trap and destroy two Russian Corps [ III & IV] but Junot so mishandled his Corps VIII that the Russians were able to extricate themselves from the trap. The French gained the ground but lost nearly twice as many men as the Russians.
