Summary
XIII Corps 30th Div. gained almost the whole of Trones Wood but were driven out by heavy artillery fire and German counter-attacks. The attacks were driven off and about a third of the wood was retaken. XV Corps were repulsed in their attacks on the Quadrangle Support Trench. Little ground was gained by the 32nd and 25th Divs of X Corps in their continued attacks to take Orvillers.
