Summary
Soult's IV Corps and Murat's Cavalry Reserve caught Wernick's exhausted troops [mostly infantry] at Trochtelfingen. A surrender was negotiated in which Wernick agreed to all of his troops whether present or not surrendering. Field Marshall Graf Hohenzollern with 10 squadrons of Wernick's cavalry flatly refused to obey the order.
