Summary
Thought to be the bloodiest battle fought on British soil, Edward IV of York fought and defeated the Lancastrians under the Duke of Somerset. A particular emnity, and a 'no quarter' order given prior to the battle ensured massive casualties on both sides, thought to total 20,000 combatants, out of around 40,000.
