Summary
The retreating Austrians under Archduke Charles made this their last serious stand in Italy. Both sides lost heavily in killed and wounded. The Austrians had 3,500 captured as well as losing 25 guns and 400 vehicles.
Location
A village in the extreme northeastern tip of Italy close to the Austro-Slovene border, about 17 miles southwest of Villach.
