Summary
While Soult was retreating on Toulouse Wellington attempted to trap him. Soult's main force was in position around Tarbes when Wellinton sent Beresford's Corps to cut the three possible roads north. Two were cut but the southernmost route was held open by the determined resistance of Taupin's division. Only one division on each side did the actual fighting.
Soult escaped into Toulouse.
