Summary
A large Argentinian task force of marines including special forces from 1st Amphibious Commandos Group landed near Port Stanley on East Falkland and proceed to take the town. They were challenged by elements of the Royal Marine detachment there commanded by Major Mike Norman.
The defence, ending at Government House was spirited and inflicted casualties but was ultimately futile and overwhelmed. The British surrendered.
