Summary
King Gustavus ll of Sweden allied with Saxony and other German Principalities against the Hapsburg threat to destroy Protestantism. The Swedes and allies enjoyed considerable success and the German princes made peace on favourable terms. Sweden went on fighting and in 1635 managed to persuade France to enter the conflict against the Hapsburgs.
