Summary
Major Ferdinand von Schill lead a group of men who had not accepted Prussia's surrender and who wished to fight on. They held the fortified port of Stralsund. Outnumbered by more than five to one in men and 22 to 15 in guns Schill and his men fought bravely. A quarter, including Schill himself, were killed.
Location
A city port on the German Baltic coast due north of Berlin. In 1809 it was in Swedish Pommerania. (Germany)
