Summary
The morale of the retreating Austrians was low and they were nearing exhaustion. The pursuers in the form of Davout's III Corps of the Grande Armee were, by contrast, bouyed up by the ease of their repeated successes. Most of the Austrians surrendered and this ended Merveldt's Corps as an effective fighting force.
