Summary
Gen Dobell made a second attempt on Gaza, by a frontal assault against by this time well prepared Turkish defences. The effort was doomed, and even though the Turks were outnumbered by two to one, and the British were using tanks and gas shells they were thrown back. Dobell was relieved of his command, Allenby taking his place.
