Summary
Caesar advanced through Gaul after Vercingetorix's force who were burning the land as they went to starve the Romans. The town of Avaricum was besieged and despite harrasing by Vercingetorix and stuborn resistance by the defenders it fell. Caesar then turned towards Gergovia.
