Summary
Part of Marbot's division of Soult's right wing of the Army of Italy garrisoned Savona. They were covered on the seaward side by the same British naval squadron which was covering Genoa. The Commander of the Garrison, Brigadier Buget, surrendered after 25 days. All French were made prisoners of war and the Austrians also took 146 guns.
