Summary
Marshal Davout's French flanking force met the vastly larger Prussian main force under the Duke of Brunswick but skilful and disciplined French resistance coupled with uncoordinated Prussian attacks gave Davout a famous victory and helped to force the Prussians out of the Fourth Coalition.
