Summary
Having drawn General Cornwallis' main British force to Trenton, Washington realised that his small and poorly equiped force couldn't match it, but rather than wait to be attacked, they moved against the smaller force left in Princeton. A short, sharp, hard-fought battle at the point of the bayonet swung Washington's way and the British were driven from the town.
