Summary
The Royal Navy's 2nd Destroyer flotilla sailed into the fjord to attack German destroyers and supply ships. The British were at a five to ten disadvantage against the Germans whose destroyers carried more and larger guns. At the cost of two British destroyers the flotilla sank two German destroyers as well as seriously damaging three more. They also sank several supply ships including an important ammunition ship.
