Summary
While Edward lll was engaged on the continent David ll, in support of the French, invaded England. He reached Durham. The northern lords assembled an army under command of Ralph Neville. Although numerically inferior in a tough battle the English managed to hold and then throw back the Scots. King David ll was wounded and captured.
