Summary
In Würmser's attempt to relieve Mantua he brushed aside the outposts of the besiegers and entered the city on the 12th. The breakout battles for the suburb of San Giorgio and the village of La Favorita were fought three days later. After some fierce fighting by both sides the Austrians were beaten back into the city. This ended Würmser second attempt to relieve Manrtua.

A fortress town in northern Italy on the river Mincio. The village of La Favorita is about one and a half miles to the northeast of the town.
