Soult, commanding the Third division of the French Army of the Danube, boldly attacked the Austro-Russian line, Hotze's corps, along the river Linth. The thinly held line was easily overcome.


The river Linth runs from the Walensee to the Zürichsee, Switzerland. The bulk of the action was towards the northern end close to the Zürichsee. (Switzerland)
